We still know how to have fun...20's style!

The Roaring Twenties

Jason and I went to a murder mystery roaring 20's party, and we had such a wonderful time. We try and go out on a date night at least once a month, but it is the usual dinner, movie, play or once in awhile a concert. So, when we got a chance to dress up, eat amazing food, drink great drinks, and be around our friends.... we were really, really excited! Or, at least I was Really, Really excited!
We had a great time, and I loved going back in time to the "Roaring Twenties!" I thought Jason, aka "Hal Sapone," made a great gangster, and I, aka "Mable Sapone," made a great up and coming actress!
CHEERS!

Snow, snow, snow!

Let it snow!
We love the snow, but we really hadn't got any until these last couple of days in January! The weatherman predicted a couple of days of 1-3 inches, and instead we got a couple of days of 6-12 inches! It snowed, and snowed and snowed! So what to do....go outside of course! One thing about living where it is cold, and we do get quite a bit of snow, is that our girls love being outside and it takes awhile before they get really cold!
Jaelyn even dresses "up" for the occasion. That girl does not go anywhere without a dress, skirt or tutu on! Snow days are NO exception. She put all the important snow gear on, and then added the perfect touch... a frilly, green, tutu skirt.
Elliana on the other hand was not as enthusiastic about accessories, and thus did not want to leave her mittens on. So, that is why she has my gloves on over her mittens. It was a successful attempt to keep her hands warm, and it worked! She loved being outside, but was ready for hot chocolate when we came back inside...after swinging, raking, and playing in all that snow!
Murphy, well Murphy just wants to be where we are. So he is always along for the ride!

Strike a pose!

Jaelyn is getting more animated and dramatic the older she gets! Here she is striking a pose, showing her "grumpy face", and her "happy face!" Elliana just loves to smile and be cute! We love them both so much!!!

Bowling anyone? The Whole Family!!!

First Time Bowling with Jaelyn and Elliana
Jason was on vacation time, so we were constantly looking for family things to do together! Bowling.... neither one of the girls had ever gone bowling. They both loved it, and of course Jaelyn wanted to do it, "All by myself! I don't need any help!" Both of the girls needed help with the ball no matter how strong Jaelyn thought she was:) They would clap, and jump up and down as their ball rolled towards their pins trying to guess how many would be knocked down!?! They had about 2 minutes each time they took a turn because the ball rolled so slowly down the lane that it was very exciting and EVERY TIME!!!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas Time 2012

This time of year is always magical and full of excitement and this year was no exception! Jaelyn and Elliana were busy getting ready for Santa, celebrating the advent, making cookies, doing family crafts and playing in the snow. Below is a snapshot of what December looked like in our family!

Letters and Visit to Santa

Jaelyn wrote Santa and asked for baby things while also telling Santa, "He has beautiful reindeer!"

Elliana would be happy with a box full of meme's (aka pacifiers), but did ask for a book and something to play with!

The family went to Kendrick Mansion to visit Father Christmas, drink cider, eat figgy pudding and listen to music for an old fashioned Christmas!

Jaelyn's Christmas Concerts

Making Cookies and Gingerbread Houses

I have definitely gone from one little helper to two little helpers! I love it, and so do the girls! Here we are making pancakes and Christmas Cookies! It was breakfast time and we were getting the kitchen dirty, so I thought "why not do cookies too!"

Jaelyn is a great helper!
...And taste tester!

Elliana is there for the food and to always give us a good laugh!

I have been reading blogs lately, and many of them do so many cute and creative things around Christmas (I have to ask where do they find the time???), but we did make time for gingerbread houses!  Here Daddy and Elliana are on Team Pigtails to create their gingerbread house and have some friendly, family competition!!!

Jaelyn and I were on the "Pink Girl Team!" I have to say we were a great team and had so much fun!

Here is the final product!! Jaelyn and mommy clearly are the winners;)

Christmas Time

Grandma and Papa came in for Christmas, and Grandma had to bake Christmas cookies with the girls! They were delicious!

Jaelyn loves, loves, loves clothes! Here is outfit number 4 or 5 and it is not even dinner time!?! This girl changes her clothes more times in one day!

Opening a present Christmas Eve...a tradition to carry on with my girls!

Elliana opening her stocking and getting SO excited about her new Elmo toothbrush!

The girls helped each other open presents!

9:00 am...ok everyone is ready to go back to bed...even Murphy!

In the end this was yet another wonderful Christmas full of blessings, love, family and cooking! We aer so thankful for everyone in our life and being able to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Many blessing to all!
